Aftercare Instructions

Initial aftercare
To protect and increase the longevity of your items
To properly care for your wooden furniture, it's important to turn off all underfloor heating and lower the temperature on your radiators.
Gradually increase the temperature over a few weeks to avoid sudden shifts.
Additionally, keep your furniture out of direct sunlight, as harmful UV rays can damage both the wood and its finish. If this is unavoidable please speak to us about the UV protection treatment we can apply to all our items
During the first month in your home, try to avoid exposing your furniture to extreme temperature changes to ensure it adjusts and maintains its quality.

Whilst this may sound daunting and scary it's really simple and not as complicated as it sounds. let the table settle and bring the temperature up slowly in its initial stages in your home.

Why is this important?
Wood is a natural product!
Our wood is handpicked and kiln-dried before entering our workshop, maintaining a moisture content between 10% and 14%, while the average home typically has a moisture content of around 6% or lower.

As a natural material, wood is prone to slight movement and moisture loss when first used and across the seasons which may cause small cracks.
It has come from a tree remember which is why it has all the lovely life and character !
However, these imperfections are completely normal and can contribute to the rustic charm of your furniture.
Over time, the wood colour will change ever so slightly, especially with exposure to sunlight this is unavoidable and can be rejuvenated over time with our care products.
To protect its integrity, avoid placing your furniture near direct heat sources such as radiators, ovens, Logburners, or fireplaces.
